News from The Tree House CAC - July 2020 TIPS FOR KEEPING KIDS SAFE AS ACTIVITIES REOPEN As we have entered into the summer months, and activities have begun to reopen, it is important to remind children and adolescents of the appropriate safety measures to follow while they are socializing with friends, and/or re-entering various activities. To remain healthy and safe, and prevent further spread of COVID-19, it's important to discuss the continued need to social distance, wear a mask, and frequently wash your hands, even though, it may seem the world is beginning to shift back to normal. In addition, talk through missed milestones, such as graduations, proms, sporting events, etc., and missed activities, such as sleep away camp. It is important to provide reassurance and perspective, where needed, regarding these missed events. Resources for parents/caregivers:

On Wednesday evening, July 1st, the Shady Grove Presbyterian Church held a webinar entitled Light in the Darkness, where members of the Tree House Staff and Mike Sloan, with GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in a Christian Environment) spoke on the dynamics of child abuse, as well as, response and reporting. Missed it? No problem!
