We are very excited to be supporting the Tree House CAC again this year and riding in the Tour de Cookie! We'll be biking 12-miles (and grabbing some cookies along the way) to help the Tree House continue their invaluable services to children in Montgomery County who have been abused or neglected. We came so close last year to hitting our $1000.00 goal. Please help us get there this year and we'll be sure to save you some cookies!
Here are just some of the many things that Tree House provides free of charge. Even a small amount goes a long way!
This is what your donation can do:
- $5 Pays for courthouse parking for our Victim Advocate transporting clients
- $10 Provides snacks and drinks for 10 children who are waiting for services
- $20 Allows us to buy new toys and books for our waiting room
- $25 Provides first aid supplies for one month
- $30 Allows our Victim Advocate to attend court with our children for 1 hour
- $50 Provides 1 hour of Mental Health Therapy
- $50 Provides 1 hour of care by a Forensic Nurse Practitioner
- $50 Provides transportation for a child to and from The Tree House when he or she may have no other way to get to us.
- $75 Provides a skilled Forensic Interviewer for one forensic interview
- $100 Provides 1 hour of Physician care
- $250 Pays for 14 days of HIV prophylaxis for one child
- $500 Allows us to perform a full psychological assessment of a child
- $500 Allows us to perform a full medical exam including all lab work for a child
- $1000 Allows us to perform a complete forensic evaluation of a child
- $5000 Will enable us to provide one family with a full course of medical, therapeutic, and victim assistance services
Every year hundreds of bicyclists and cookie lovers join together to participate in The Tree House Tour de Cookie. The ride is great fun and supports services critical to the community. All proceeds from the event go to The Tree House CAC. It is a joyful day of fun, festivities, and philanthropy.
The Tree House CAC of Montgomery County MD is dedicated to reducing trauma and promoting healing for child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. For more than twelve years, the Tree House has served as the only child advocacy organization in Montgomery County, Maryland, and in the past year alone has supported over 700 children in the search for hope and healing.
Our services include:
• comprehensive medical examinations
• mental health assessments
• ongoing mental health therapy for the child and non-offending family members
• victim advocacy
• forensic interviews
• nurse case management
• education & prevention
All of our services are free to victims and their non-offending family members.
